A particularly sophisticated  garment at the end of 13th century is cottardie.It is made of large amount of fabric to get fancy trailing folds of fabric in the bottom of the dress. It is too long compared to the figure.  Often decorated with ribbons, embroidered with silk ornaments. Sleeves in  cottardie – type of garments often had a  solely decorative function.

Extremely elegant silk gown decorated with with silk ribbon. The sleeve of the dress is long and  cut in the arm area. Extensive dress, sewn from a large quantity of cloth, loosely flowing downwards. With light linen lining.

Machine-sewn with hand sewn on the neck, sleeves and holes.
